Arboretum was born from the conviction that the future of premium design is inseparable from the health of our planet.
In 2019, our founders Priya and Arjun were renovating their home in Bengaluru. They couldn't find furniture that was both beautiful and honest about its environmental impact. Every premium piece either hid its supply chain or apologised for its materials. That frustration became Arboretum.
We spent three years developing Bloom-Fiber™ — a proprietary process that transforms agricultural waste from South Indian rice farms into a textile as soft as cashmere and as durable as hardwood. We launched with a single chair. We're still only making one thing, because we believe in making it perfectly.
A business built like a forest.
Forests don't optimise for quarterly returns. They optimise for resilience across centuries. We run Arboretum the same way.
Every material we use is traceable to a single source — sustainable forests certified by the FSC. We publish our full supply chain annually.
10% of every sale funds reforestation projects in partnership with local communities across South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
At the end of its life, every Arboretum product can be returned for composting. We call it the Return to Earth programme.
Our Bloom-Fiber™ lab employs 12 materials scientists dedicated to finding new ways to turn plant waste into premium textiles.
Each piece is made to order. Ships in 5–10 business days with carbon-neutral logistics.
